Traveling with Children
Families that travel through Las Vegas use the non casino entertainment of Las Vegas . No one under 21 admitted to the Casinos. Under 18 have to be accompanied by an adult after 9 p.m.
Hotels many times offer baby sitting services and other childcare services. Enquire with the hotel you are booking.
TRIPS FROM LAS VEGAS
Las Vegas to Hoover Dam:

Las Vegas to the Red Rock Canyon
The Red Rock Canyon is a pristine magnificent vista about 20 miles from Las Vegas. This is good for a short morning trip to be able to get back to the afternoon entertainment and casinos. More info at http://www.nv.blm.gov/redrockcanyon
Las Vegas to the Valley of Fire State Park
Valley of Fire State Park spreads over 36,000-acre are in the mountainous red Mojave Desert. It derives its name from the brilliant sandstone formations that were created 150 million years ago by a great shifting of sand and that continue to be shaped by the geologic processes of wind and water erosion.

Las Vegas to Los Angeles
The distance is 270 miles and may take 5 hours. Definitely not a day trip but a very scenic route that people from the East coast do not see.
Las Vegas to Phoenix
Phoenix is 290 miles from Las Vegas.
TRANSPORTATION
Las Vegas Airport to the Las Vegas Strip
A lot of shuttle buses are available to the hotels on the strip. A cab ride costs around $15 and can be taken from right outside the airport. People looking sot splurge can get a limousine to meet them.
The Las Vegas Monorail
The Las Vegas monorail runs on the east side of The Strip from Tropicana Avenue to Sahara Road .
Las Vegas Bus
Double Decker buses known as The Deuce operate along the strip. They stop at most major resorts and continues north to downtown and the Fremont Street Experience A 24-hour pass for The Deuce bus costs $5
Las Vegas Strip Trolley
A tourist trolley service travels up and down The Strip and stops at various, but not all, Strip hotels, along with a stop at the Fashion Show Mall. The fare is $2.00 for a one way ride, regardless how far you travel down the strip or spend 5 dollars and get a 24hr pass, exact change required. Trolleys are scheduled to arrive every 15 minutes.
Las Vegas Tram
Two small cable-pulled trams operate on the Strip. One runs between Treasure Island and The Mirage. The other provides service to Mandalay Bay, Luxor, and Excalibur.
Las Vegas Strip Free Shuttles
- Las Vegas Blvd. traffic during the day.
- Between Harrah's Las Vegas and the Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino. Approximately every 30 minutes.
- Between Caesars Palace and the Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino . Approximately every 30 minutes.
- Between Paris/Bally's and the Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino . Approximately every 30 minutes.
- Between Barbary Coast and The Orleans . Approximately every 15 minutes.
- Between Barbary Coast and Gold Coast. Approximately every 15 minutes.
- Between Hard Rock Hotel and Casino and the MGM Grand and the Harley-Davidson Cafe (next to the Aladdin). Leaves the Hard Rock on the hour.
- Between Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, Fashion Show Mall and the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace . Leaves the Hard Rock on the hour.
- Between Wynn Las Vegas and the Las Vegas Convention Center Monorail Stop
- Many free shuttles require a room key from an affiliated casino.
Walking around Las Vegas Strip
The street more pedestrian-friendly. Footbridges help pedestrians more safely cross the roads. Keep in mind that you have to do a lot of walking and keep some comfortable walking shoes.
